RESTORATION OF PETALUMA ADOBE WALL COMPLETED06/21/2016
During the week of June 13, under the direction of Gil Sanchez, State Parks administative and maintenance staff and Jim Carr of SPParks applied a final slurry coat of adobe to protect the full length of the northeast wall of the Petaluma Adobe, ground level and balcony level, from the weather and from nesting birds. This is one big step along the path to restoration of all the exterior walls.
Patching of bad cracks and deep holes in the northeast and northwest walls was done in fall 2014, along with a small test section of slurry coat. Both the trial run and the full wall repair were financed by grants obtained by SPParks.
