Zoom Lecture, “The Northwestern Pacific Railroad Serving the Valley of the Moon”

Travel back in time with Fred Codoni and ride the Northwestern Pacific Railroad from the Ferry Building in San Francisco to Glen Ellen in the Sonoma Valley. Learn about the heavy freight trains that passed through Schellville and the service provided to resorts in the Valley. Fred has an extensive collection of railroad photos and ephemera that he will share with us.

Fred Codoni is a fourth generation Marin County resident and has long ties to railroading. He has worked for the Northwestern Pacific and Southern Pacific railway companies and serves as editor of “The Headlight” and “The Northwesterner” for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Historical Society. He is a member of the Western Railway Museum at Rio Vista Junction (Solano County) and is engineer/motorman/conductor for that group’s standard-gauge electric equipment.
