About Your Visit
The Sonoma State Historic Park has returned to normal operation. We are again open from 10am to 5pm every day of the year, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Park staff members are on duty in the Mission and at the Vallejo Home. There is a large parking lot behind the Toscano Hotel and Sonoma Barracks. Docent-led tours are available on weekends. To find out when these tours are scheduled, and for other park information, please call 707-938-9560.
The Petaluma Adobe, which tells still another facet of the Vallejo story, is a twenty minute drive from Sonoma. The huge adobe ranch building, the largest private hacienda in California between 1834 and 1846, was the center of activity on one of the most prosperous private estates established during the Mexican period. Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park is scheduled for normal operation from 10am to 5pm with the exception of three major national holidays. Occasional staffing shortfall still occurs so it is recommended that you call 707-938-9560 to confirm the park will be open to the public when you plan to visit. Docent-led tours have not yet resumed. To find out when tours will be available, and for other park information, please call (707) 762-4871.
