CHILDREN'S DAY AT THE MISSION

05/03/2019

Once again Children's Day brought families to the Sonoma Mission courtyard to learn and experience the crafts practiced at the Mission during its brief existence and in early Sonoma. Parks staff, docents and volunteers guided kids and adults through the steps to card wool and spin yarn, make rope, tool leather, make candles, basketry, beading, roping a critter, baking cornbread and churning butter. It was a balmy, relaxing day and the crowd kept moving through at a relaxed pace. Thanks to Emily Walski for organizing the day's activities.
