At long last, after two years of delays and restrictions caused by the Covid19 pandemic, the traditional Holiday celebration returned to the Sonoma State Historic Park on December 10, 2022. Park staff and SPParks volunteers braved the intermittent rain to welcome the community to our beloved historic venues. Sonoma Valley High School singers joined volunteers to present the traditional Las Posadas in the Mission chapel. The Barracks hosted children’s craft tables and refreshments while music filled the breezeway. The Pickle Creek String Band entertained us in the Toscano Hotel, and gamblers and cowboys once again filled the Blue Wing Inn. And, of course, Santa Claus mingled with families while a donkey and mini-horse joined the festivities. Thanks to all the Park Staff, docents and SPParks members who once again brought holiday joy to Sonoma Plaza.
