Programs
We promote and underwrite programs that support the Interpretation and Awareness pillars of SPParks mission:
- Docent training and enrichment
- Parks staff attendance at seminars and workshops
- “Third Thursday” concert and lecture series in the Sonoma Mission Chapel
- Participation in community events such as the Sonoma July 4 parade and the Petaluma Butter ‘n Eggs parade
Every year we sponsor, and our members participate in, these popular events at our parks:
- April – Sheep Shearing Day – Petaluma Adobe
- May – Children’s Day at the Mission – Sonoma Mission
- May – Living History Day – Petaluma Adobe
- June – Pueblo Day – Sonoma Barracks
- September – Fandango! – Petaluma Adobe
- November – Victorian Christmas Crafts Workshop – Vallejo Home
- December – Holidays on the Northern Frontier – Mission Chapel, Toscano Hotel, Blue Wing Inn
These programs and events are funded through memberships, donations and sales at the Barracks Gift Store.
