Programs

We promote and underwrite programs that support the Interpretation and Awareness pillars of SPParks mission:

  • Docent training and enrichment
  • Parks staff attendance at seminars and workshops
  • “Third Thursday” concert and lecture series in the Sonoma Mission Chapel
  • Participation in community events such as the Sonoma July 4 parade and the Petaluma Butter ‘n Eggs parade

Every year we sponsor, and our members participate in, these popular events at our parks:

  • April – Sheep Shearing Day – Petaluma Adobe
  • May – Children’s Day at the Mission – Sonoma Mission
  • May – Living History Day – Petaluma Adobe
  • June – Pueblo Day – Sonoma Barracks
  • September – Fandango! – Petaluma Adobe
  • November – Victorian Christmas Crafts Workshop – Vallejo Home
  • December – Holidays on the Northern Frontier – Mission Chapel, Toscano Hotel, Blue Wing Inn

These programs and events are funded through memberships, donations and sales at the Barracks Gift Store.
