Dia de los Muertos arrives early in the Sonoma Barracks

On Saturday, October 17th Sonoma State Historic Park, SPParks, and the La Luz Center hosted the 3rd annual Día de los Muertos movie night event at the Sonoma Barracks. The event was graciously underwritten by the City of Sonoma Community Service Grant Program. Approximately 289 guests visited throughout the evening. This year included a festive Catrina contest with prizes! Visitors watched the movie Encanto, enjoyed face painting, decorated sugar skulls, and created paper marigold and wooden butterfly crafts. Gerardo from the Sonoma Community Center provided delicious hot pizza baked on site. We are so thankful for our partners and community for making this such a special night.
